Israel Expands Military Operations in Gaza City

The Israeli military has intensified its preliminary offensive in Gaza City, officially designating the area a “dangerous combat zone” and announcing that local ceasefire pauses will no longer apply.

Troops have massed outside key neighborhoods and increased aerial and artillery strikes as part of a strategy approved by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to regain control of the city from Hamas.

Thousands of Israeli reservists have been mobilized to support the operation, with the military aiming to enter neighborhoods such as Zeitoun and Sabra. The government has stated operations will continue until Hamas is fully disarmed and the city is secured.

Israeli officials emphasize that current military actions are focused on neutralizing Hamas elements and restoring security along Israel’s border.
