Iranian Company Raises Bounty to 15 Billion Tomans for Information on Missing U.S. Pilot
Iranian media report that a company based in Khuzestan Province has increased the bounty for information on the last remaining U.S. pilot to 15 billion tomans, roughly 90,000 dollars at current exchange rates.
According to the reports, the unnamed Khuzestan firm has publicly pledged the reward for any credible information leading to the discovery of the pilot’s whereabouts, framing the move as support for Iran’s response to recent U.S. military actions.
The offer, denominated in tomans rather than foreign currency, underscores both domestic economic conditions and the company’s attempt to appeal directly to local residents in the oil-rich southwestern province.
While Iranian outlets highlighted the 15 billion toman figure to signal the seriousness of the search effort, U.S. officials have not immediately commented on the reported bounty or on the pilot’s status.
The move risks further inflaming tensions between Washington and Tehran, which are already on edge amid ongoing clashes, sanctions, and competing reward offers by both sides targeting opponents’ personnel and assets.
