Aston Martin Aramco has officially confirmed that Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll will remain the team’s driver pairing for the 2027 Formula 1 season. The announcement ends uncertainty surrounding Alonso’s future in the sport after months of speculation about whether the two-time world champion would continue racing beyond 2026.

Aston Martin announced that both drivers have extended their long-term contracts with the team, meaning the partnership between Alonso and Stroll will continue into the 2027 campaign.

For Alonso, the decision confirms that the 45-year-old Spaniard will continue his Formula 1 career for at least another season. Alonso said he took time to consider his future but ultimately decided to remain because of his passion for racing and his desire to compete at the highest level.

Stroll will also continue with Aston Martin, maintaining the driver pairing that has represented the team since 2023. Formula 1 noted that Alonso and Stroll will enter their fifth season together as teammates, with the pair combining for 644 F1 race starts.

The confirmation gives Aston Martin stability as the team continues its long-term project under its current leadership and technical structure. The 2027 season will also mark another important stage in the team's efforts to become a stronger contender in Formula 1.
