Iran’s Khamenei Sets Nuclear Red Lines Ahead of Rome Talks with U.S.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has mandated non-negotiable red lines for Tehran’s nuclear negotiators, including refusing to dismantle uranium centrifuges, reduce enriched uranium stockpiles below 2015 deal levels, or halt enrichment entirely, senior officials confirmed.

The directives, reiterated ahead of Saturday’s U.S.-Iran talks in Rome, also exclude discussions on Iran’s ballistic missile program, which it deems separate from nuclear negotiations.

While Tehran expressed cautious optimism about a potential deal if Washington offers sanctions relief and avoids “unrealistic demands,” the U.S. insists Iran must cease all enrichment activities
