Pentagon Identifies Fourth U.S. Service Member Killed in Iranian Attack on Jordan Base.
The U.S. Department of Defense has identified Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad, 28, of Ozone Park, New York, as the fourth American service member believed to have been killed in the recent Iranian attack on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.
In a statement, the Pentagon said Sgt. Rampersad is believed to have been killed in action during the enemy attack on 17 July 2026. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
U.S. Central Command had earlier announced Rampersad as missing following the attack. His status has now been updated to Duty Status–Whereabouts Unknown, with military officials stating that he is believed to be deceased.
The identification comes days after the Pentagon confirmed the deaths of three other U.S. service members in the same attack, bringing the confirmed death toll to four.
Military authorities said investigations and recovery efforts are ongoing as they continue to gather more information about the attack and account for all personnel affected.
