Tens of thousands evacuated French Tourist Spot and Near Madrid as wildfires spread.

French authorities have ordered the evacuation of the entire Cap Ferret peninsula as a massive wildfire continues to spread across south-western France. Around 40,000 people have been evacuated or are being moved to safety, with some residents and tourists escaping by boat.

The fire in the Gironde region has burned about 10,000 hectares of land and destroyed at least 53 homes and a campsite. Strong winds, extreme heat and severe drought have made the situation worse, with firefighters struggling to contain the rapidly spreading flames.

Another major fire near Biscarrosse has forced more than 23,000 people to leave their homes, campsites and other facilities. More than 100 buildings have reportedly been damaged or destroyed, while firefighters continue to battle the flames in difficult conditions.

Spain is also facing a serious wildfire crisis, with several fires burning near Madrid. The government has declared a national emergency, while regional authorities have described the situation as the worst fire outbreak in the region's history.

For many families, the evacuations have been terrifying. Some were woken in the middle of the night by emergency alerts and forced to leave quickly, abandoning their belongings as they searched for safety. Firefighters, supported by teams and aircraft from across Europe, are working around the clock as authorities urge people to stay away from the affected areas.
