Country music legend and cultural icon Dolly Parton has died at the age of 80.

Parton’s death was announced by her publicist on Tuesday, bringing an end to a remarkable six-decade career that made her one of the most successful and beloved entertainers in the world. A cause of death was not immediately disclosed.

With timeless hits including “Jolene,” “9 to 5” and “I Will Always Love You,” Parton became one of the most influential figures in country music while also earning widespread recognition beyond the genre.
