Have United found their Messiah?

7 months since his first game in charge of Manchester United, Erik ten Hag has got Old Trafford dreaming again. Victory over Barcelona in the Europa league knockout stage, a cup final on the horizon, 5 points away from top placed arsenal and a spot in the FA cup 5th round, ETH as he's fondly called, has got United fighting on four fronts.

At the start of the season no one would've believed down the line United will be the only team in England fighting for four different trophies. Erik Ten Hag had a difficult start to life at the theatre of dreams, he lost his first league match to Brighton and was humiliated by Brentford in the next. Questions began to arise as to whether he was truly the right man for the job but he was unfazed and called for calm.

Right after the Brentford defeat came the Liverpool game, almost everyone wrote them off despite the fact the reds also had a difficult start to the season. United season could be said to have began at that point, a win over Liverpool and 3 successive league victories which included arsenal brought a glimmer of hope to the red devils but a 6-3 defeat to local rivals, Manchester City, gave them a reality check. Eth's boys then went on a 9 game unbeaten run in all competitions, the rebuilding project was well underway.

Erik Ten Hag tried to instill discipline and an elite mentality into this team of players that seemingly lost hope after a disastrous 2021/2022 season. ETH brought in principles and wasn't scared to drop anyone who didn't comply with his rules and standard. A fallout with club favorite Cristiano Ronaldo followed and the club backed ETH which led to Ronaldo's interview with Piers Morgan that was released just before the start of the Fifa World Cup in November.

Ronaldo was kicked out of the club and it was up to ETH to prove the fallout wouldn't affect the players and the project he was building, he has since lived up to that. United seem rejuvenated and disciplined, for now ETH has shut up his doubters and has gathered his troops for an assault on every available trophy and he has the backing of the club and the supporters. While things can still go south for him it seems unlikely cause united have grown from strength to strength. ETH has brought life back to players such as Rashford and his bold decision to drop club captain Harry Maguire has paid off. United seem to have found their Messiah who would lead them back to their glory days and they'll only hope this is just the beginning of good tidings coming their way.
