White House Silent as $100 Million Ukrainian Corruption Probe Triggers High-Profile Resignations

The U.S. administration has yet to publicly respond to a far-reaching Ukrainian corruption investigation that has already caused the resignation of top officials in President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s government and inner circle.

Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office uncovered a $100 million kickback and embezzlement scheme centered on the state nuclear energy company, Energoatom.

This probe forced both the Justice and Energy Ministers to step down amid growing calls for accountability and transparency in Ukraine’s leadership. Investigators allege that Tymur Mindich, a long-time associate of Zelenskyy and influential figure in Ukraine’s energy sector, orchestrated the scheme with help from loyalists in the administration.

Mindich has reportedly left Ukraine since the investigation became public.

The scandal unfolds as Ukraine faces both wartime hardship and mounting scrutiny from European and international partners over corruption and reforms.

Calls are intensifying for systemic changes, but so far the White House has not issued an official statement regarding the investigation or its implications for U.S. support.

The resignations and ongoing investigation mark one of the most significant anti-corruption drives in Ukraine’s recent history, raising questions about the future of Zelenskyy’s administration.
