Alcaraz Defeats Sinner to Reclaim US Open Title

Carlos Alcaraz reasserted his dominance in men’s tennis by defeating Jannik Sinner in four sets to reclaim the US Open crown in New York.

The Spaniard produced a strong performance, winning 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, to secure his sixth Grand Slam title and add another chapter to one of the sport’s most enthralling modern rivalries.

The final was delayed by 30 minutes due to heightened security measures following the arrival of U.S. President Donald Trump, who was in attendance.

Once play began, Alcaraz and Sinner delivered another gripping contest, though this battle fell slightly short of the epic clashes they staged at the French Open and Wimbledon earlier this year.

Alcaraz set the tone early with powerful serving and precise shot-making, rebounding well after dropping the second set to Sinner. His improved serve proved crucial, especially after it faltered in their Wimbledon final, enabling him to close out the match in four sets.

At just 22 years old, Alcaraz has now collected six Grand Slam titles, becoming the second youngest man after Björn Borg to reach that milestone. His victory also ensures parity with Sinner, as the two rivals end 2025 with two majors apiece.

Alcaraz at the French Open and US Open, and Sinner at the Australian Open and Wimbledon further solidifying their status as the defining rivalry of the new era in men’s tennis.
